Composer Alojz Ajdič has so far created operas The Two Brothers and The Mice in the Opera House.

With his opera The Two Brothers describing the life of the mother with her two sons and a daughter in the turbulent period of the second world war in Ljubljana and in Dolenjsko region (Lower Carniola) he reaches the peak of his music creativity.

The comic opera Mice in the Opera House is intended for both children and adults.

The story is simple. It is about the love of opera, which is presented to us by the mice in the opera house. The opera is said to be made in the tradition of comic opera with masks. All the characters of the performers originate from this, but they are humanized. Opera tells us in a witty and simple way about the secrets of opera, about the wonderful world of fictional stories that cannot and do not want to compete with life, but that is why they ennoble it and make it more beautiful.

The opera Mice in the opera house is said to have a kind of educational pedagogical mission. Through the comic story of cute opera mice, young viewers are supposed to be led through the mysteriously beautiful world of opera with the direct address of the Narrator. Backstage, music room, orchestra pit, orchestra rehearsal, show, equipment, attic. In short, young viewers would get to know the opera house affirmatively in a witty and easy way, literally from the basement to the attic. For this purpose, the character of the Narrator would also be equipped with a direct dialogue that he should have with the young audience. The opera Mishi in the opera house would thus prepare the audience to love the wonderful world of opera. In this way, the queen of art could be presented again and again to young generations: OPERA.

The setting of the play should be maximally ambitious. We should put on stage a demanding spectacular show, which adult opera lovers would be happy to watch as a comic opera (opera buffa with masks), and the younger generations would also see it as an instructive and entertaining episode from the theater opera world. I am convinced that the Misha opera could be a great entertaining and educational hit in the opera house, with singing arias, duets, tercets and choral performances, which would fill the halls from generation to generation.
